The Hot Summer Days Chapter 10
Literally the only thing that happened in this chapter was Kathy’s mom getting upset about Polly Logan who is the artist.  Kathy also talks to Olivia about an orgy but it doesn’t seem to be an actual orgy.  BORING! The end.

The Hot Summer Days, Chapter 9
Okay we start with Anne and Polly talking.  I don’t remember who Polly is. They are talking about how great their husbands are.  It’s fascinating. Then Polly, who is apparently an artist, goes back to work on her art and then gets interrupted by Jay and Ray who are absolutely fabulous who are fans of her work.  They own one of her paintings and are straight up stoked to meet her.  They...

IT'S SEXY TUESDAY!
I’M SO OUT OF TOUCH THAT I HAD TO CHECK THE CALENDAR TO KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS EDITION! I’m still keeping this up because I am determined to make it through this book and I have faith it will get better.  Or I guess awesomely worse it what we are hoping for.  One day we’re going to have a discussion about how the only bad prose is boring prose.  Anyway. The Hot Summer Days Chapter 8
This chapter was mostly about how unhappy Anne is with her husband, Tom.  Tom returns and it turns out he really isn’t into his wife very much. We are so shocked.  Anne thinks about how he can’t get it up with her and how that’s kind of a problem.  However, Daisy and Maisy exist so its happened at some point.  She thinks about this lover she had once who was some dude from Iowa....

IT'S SEXY SUNDAY!
SPRINGTIME EDITION! Ladies and gents, welcome to the consistently more and more semi-weekly segment in which I read a truly terrible book called The Hot Summer Days by Sue Kaufman that is seriously so boring it has almost killed this segment.  It has nothing to do with my laziness or life issues at all.  It’s the book’s fault.  In any case, you people are still around and this book...

Can I say that I reference the ‘too soon too soon’ thing on a regular basis knowing full well that like two people I know in real life know I have a blog and no one will know what I am talking about.  It’s just too good of a joke to let go.  I don’t know, man.

The Hot Summer Days Chapter 7
Kathy, who is the nanny who thinks everything is ‘too soon too soon’, has her mother come visit.  Her mother is a horrible person who judges everything so Kathy tricks her into thinking that Kathy isn’t getting enough to eat so Kathy’s mother will embarrass herself.  Meanwhile, her friend Olivia is busy getting to know the local boys and takes Kathy along.  A boy tries to...

IT'S SEXY THURSDAY!
Nobody Remembers and Nobody Cares Edition! So, I used to do this thing called Sexy Sunday where I read really bad 1960s novels and quoted them and summarized them for your reading pleasure.  I was in the middle of a book called The Hot Summer Days by Sue Kaufman.  We were patiently awaiting orgies.  That’s all you need to know, really.  Will orgies happen?  Only time can tell.
