I liked the Olympics before it was cool

Okay, Tumblr, I have a dumb question.  What do you think about the olympics?  I personally LOVE the olympics and watch as much of it as I can.  I can’t really explain my love for the olympics, I just love it.  (I may or may not be a little biased due to the fact that HORSE THINGS happen in the olympics and I grew up around horses)  I was talking to a friend yesterday and she said the following things:

A.  Only old people watch the olympics

B.  She said she stopped caring about the olympics when she started caring about the world cup.  (Me: Those things can’t even be compared, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT)

C. More people care about the World Cup than the Olympics.  (Again, I think they can’t exactly be compared but I do not think this statement is true.)

So, Tumblr, what say you?  Are the olympics this boring old person thing that ONLY I watch?? hahaha.  Was she trying to be all hipster on me?  ARE THE OLYMPICS TOO MAINSTREAM?

  1. drakochan said: I watch some events but not all of them? *A*;; I watch swimming for summer, figure skating in winter, and some of the other stuff that I don’t remember goes in which category lol but I abuse tivo like mad when the olympics happen
  2. sarcasticcity said: I LOVE the olympics! and I’ve loved them ever since I was little. I love hearing the awesomely sappy stories about certain athletes & cheering them on. Mostly, I’m just massively impressed by how awesome & skilled these people are.
